Here is a brilliant spin on our beloved American Flag, in the form of this Americana throw pillow cover!
Although, of course, the stars are an integral part of our American Flag, we absolutely adore the buttons used in this version and think it is just super cute!
To crochet this project, you will work up four smaller squares…three of which will be the red and white stripes, and the fourth square being a solid blue square.
There are also instructions for crocheting the back of the pillow, which differs from the front.
This is also a great way to use up those extra buttons you have lying around.
The finished project fits a standard 12-inch square pillow insert.
Project calls for about 600 yards total #3 weight yarn, a Size E hook or whatever size is needed to match gauge, a yarn needle, assorted buttons in cream, ivory, or other preference, a needle and thread for sewing on the buttons, and a square pillow insert measuring 12 x 12 inches.
