Even though Christmas is just around the corner at the time of this post, never fear! If you need to figure out a gift for that one person in your life who has everything or is just plain difficult to buy for, consider creating one of these afghans. Anyone and everyone can always use another blanket, so this will be the perfect gift for virtually anyone!
Additionally, its title, “Easy Weekend Crochet Afghan,” pretty much says it all. If you have just a couple of days left before you need to present a gift, this afghan can be worked up in just a weekend’s amount of time!
You will not be able to resist giving this incredibly snuggly blanket as a gift. It works up quickly, is easy, and feels like a dream.
Half double crochet is one of my favorite stitches, and using half double crochet with three strands of yarn together creates a really unique and open pattern. The three strands of yarn used together results in huge progress being made toward completion in a very short amount of time, similar to using bulky yarn!
Using a giant crochet hook and three strands of yarn, this afghan is soft, stretchy, and perfect for any season.
Although medium-weight yarn is used rather than the bulky/chunky yarn used for most afghans that are quick to complete, the large crochet hook in combination with using three strands of the medium-weight yarn allows you to progress very quickly to completion!
The approximate size of the finished afghan is 54 inches x 34 inches. You could increase or decrease the number of chain stitches you start with in order to make a larger or smaller afghan.
