Legendary Lucky the Leprechaun!

There is no better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with Lucky the Leprechaun, a fun crochet project! Lucky the Leprechaun is a great way to bring a bit of Irish charm to your home. It is a fun and easy project that can be completed somewhat quickly, and Lucky is sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

Despite the fact that leprechauns are known for being tricksters, loners, and not the most trusting of creatures, Lucky, the Leprechaun, probably won’t mind that you keep him company. Lucky the Leprechaun is actually quite friendly. He’s always looking for someone to chat with, and he loves to share stories about his adventures. He may even give you a few tips on how to be a better trickster! If you are kind to him, he may even give you a little of his wealth as a gift, or mend your shoes as an act of kindness. According to him, dandelion tea is one of the things he enjoys drinking the most. Is there a chance you could brighten his mood if you made him a cup of tea?

When completed, Lucky measures just 3 inches tall!

For this project, you will need the following:

  • DK (light worsted) weight yarn in green, mastic, orange, black, and yellow
  • A Size C/2 crochet hook
  • Stuffing
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

For this project, it is very important that you know how to chain, slip stitch, single crochet (double crochet in UK terms), half double crochet (half treble crochet) and how to make invisible decreases in single (double) crochet, as well as how to make a magic ring. If you don’t know how to do one (or more) of these techniques, there are links provided for all of them that will show you how.
